| There has been
a lifeboat at Walton-on-the-Naze since 1884, which up until 2005 laid
afloat on a mooring. Now we have a purpose-built berth alongside
Walton Pier, which was officially opened on May 1st 2005 at a cost of approx
one million pounds, which at certain times is open for the public
to view & look around.
|
| The year 2005 was our busiest year for 20 years with 34 call outs, mostly to leisure crafts. We have a Tyne class lifeboat, which was a bequest of Mr Kenneth Thelwall in 1989. |
Our boathouse is situated at the pier entrance where we have a gift shop open daily from March till December run by a dedicated team of volunteers led by Mrs Merilyn McCree.
